Best Poems Collection

Best Poems Book
About My Best Poems Collection:  "My poetry collection consists of thousands of poems.  This volume was created from this poems collection and contains many categories to choose from.  I have tried to make my  'Best Poems Book'  as complete as possible with the range of poems that can be selected.  For example,  the Love Poems category contains more than one type of poem,  ranging from romantic poems,  endearment to sensual poems.  Similarly,  other poem categories have also been seeded to cover more than one style of poem to give you the widest possible selection of poems to choose from.  With volume three,  you should have a poem for just about any occasion or situation."

As a fond mother

As a fond mother, when the day is o'er
Leads by the hand her little child to bed
Half willing, half reluctant to be led
And leave his broken playthings on the floor
Still gazing at them through the open door
Nor wholly reassuring and comforted
By promise of other in their stead
Which, though more splendid, may not please him more
So nature deals with us, and takes away
Our playthings one by one, and by the hand
Leads us to rest so gently, that we go
Scarce knowing if we wished to go or stay
Being too full of sleep to understand
How far the unknown transcends that what we know.
